hover gallery
This is in part a question about the capabilities of Advance Layers and static layouts:
Is it possible to apply this extension individually to existing images on a page?
For a client, I have had to create a manual layout of static images in order to have visual balance and the proportional sizes preserved for thumbs. The page layout mimics a print design catalog. I was hoping for some utility that didn't preload all the large images but would function more like a hide/show layers on hover/rollover for each thumb independently.
The closest thing I've seen for a great hover is the istock gallery, but all of the utilities I've seen are either database dependent with repeating tables (which don't work on my irregular images) or the placement of the in-page popups can't be controlled.
This CSS one is close to what I imagined, but the code provided doesn't function quite right for controlling the pop up location relative to the thumb.
I looked at DMX advanced layer pop up,

But while it puts things in place where I want, AFAIK, it relies on a fixed dimension thumb for the gallery. Is it possible to apply this extension individually to existing images on a page?
