Making a search form for my site

I am totally new to Dreamweaver 8 (2 days in fact). I would like to know how to put a search form (my site only) on a website. First of all, what is it called? Secondly, can I do this in DW8 or do I need other programs. I really need a tutorial that explains, in simple terms, step by step, how I do this. Thanks you

It depends on if you are using a Server or Client side language.
If you wish to search a database driven site, then you use a Form to supply the search details, and a second page with a recordset filtered to the fields you are searching.

If you are using a static site, you can use Google search or Atomz search

Both are free, but carry adverts.
