Link to downloads without displaying download path

We have a simple content management system (CMS) that we've built with the ASP Upload extension. It works great, but I want to keep curious users from learning the fully qualified path to the content itself and I want to prevent them from attempting to download content they do not have access to by guessing the URL to various files.

do you mean, ie artcile.asp?id= 3 you do not want them to be able to change 3 to anyother number. like artcile.asp?id= 5 and see it?
