UltraCart I tutorial is OK... but what if I want to put a Register/Login page (with a Customers table on the database, for example), or set cookies for customers? Looking at the BookStore example on the UltraCart page (www.powerclimb.com), the user stores his data onto the Orders table (that contains the OrderID), and then he's redirected to the CheckOut page, where the recordset filter is the OrderID (and so personal info about user are shown): what if I want to plug these User data from another table (ie. Customers), and not from OrderID table? In other words: is there a complete tutorial, from the beginning to the end (explained for dummies) on how to create a full shopping cart with UltraCart I? Thank you... Replies

This is on my to do list, i mentioned it to George last night and he suggested I start out with something easier first, but it is on my to do list. I made some notes of things to include:
- Sign up / Lost password
- Discount status
- Cookies
- Link controlled changing Flash logo
- Country selector (for VAT)
- Optional language trigger
- Rotating banners
- Search field with category selector
and that list is still open for suggestions.
And that is exactly what i had in mind, Complete E-commerce from nothing till going online. I just don't know how to do the SSL yet and creditcard check, but i'm sure someone is going to tell me that one of these days.
But it's going to take time to write it all and explain what it all does, i saw that last night when i wrote a tutorial on creating a basic 4 page contact finder website.
I still have to work it further out too and look for typos
Did they actually explain what they were doing ?
i hate tutorials that don't explain what they do, it leaves the person who follows the tutorial with a partly functioning site (assuming he set a few entries wrong) and still won't know what it was that he actually did to achieve the effects he had.
I try to avoid that, but sometimes it makes for pretty dull long-winded text for the more advanced readers.
I will let everyone know when it can be expected to show up here in the Zone, i reckon not before my birthday though

Thanks for your answer, first...
"Sign up/Lost password" and "Cookies" UltraCart Tutorials would yet be a dream come true to me
Uhm... I was thinking that a "Send Order by E-mail" section would be a great thing for those who'd like to create small or medium E-commerce sites... (that's my suggestion for the list)
Thanks again! Hope to see you soon

I take it you mean that the customer receives a email confirming his order, or are we talking about a small software company that would send the program purchased by email ?
I advise to not automate that, atleast not without building a safety in it, where a sales person has to atleast confirm the order/payment before serial codes and full versions are sent to our shoppers, the possibilities are only limited to your imagination (and your coding skills), but with a few extra behaviors installed the limits can be stretched pretty easily and pretty far too !
If anyone else has ideas for a complete E-commerce web-site tutorial then don't hesitate to let me know, I will try to incorporate them to make it as complete as possible.

Ehm... none of them I was thinking about the possibility, for the site owner, to receive an E-mail in which there's written that Customer X (with infos about him, of course) wants to buy Product X, Y, etc... a thing like this:
Customer: John X
E-mail:
Address: XXX street, N° yy
(etc)
***********************
Product 1
size: S
color: Green
Quant: 2
................
Product 2
size: M
color: Blue
Quant: 1
................
Etc...
I hope i was clear: if you have some doubts ask me! See you soon

offcourse, we don't want our sales department constantly looking into the database to see if new orders are there, and switching from table to table to see what client ordered what items. This was allready one the list
