OK Supper Newbie Question

I am so glad I have found this site. I am trying to learn how to create a site with UltraDev and I have gone through the Turtorials on how to create a search page, a results page, a details page, and the data entry page. Now it all works through the turtorials on my computer (win2k with IIS) but... when I try to create my own test page using just a simple data base. It will not work I want to get this figured out so badly I have tried it with an on system DSN and also a DSNless connection an both give me the same error 500.5. So can someone show me a Tutorial that will go from creating a simple form ( I do know how to do forms but I am wondering if I am just doing something wrong when It comes to ASP using VBscript) to the putting it up on the server. Just getting frustrated. I have looked at UDzones tutorials and it looks like on how to do more advanced things than I am ready for. Please Help I have DW but I want to be able to do ASP also and UD is the best for that.thank you in advance

well, the first thing I want to touch on (just in case) is that if all you're getting is the 500 error, and nothing else, you may want to change the setting in IE (assuming that's what you're using) to not show friendly error message:
-Tools menu.
-Internet Options.
-Advanced tab.
-uncheck "show friendly HTTP error messages"
once you do this, you will be able to see the actual error messages, and be able to trouble shoot accordingly.
now that that's out of the way, I checked, and you're right, I couldn't find a tutorial that took it down to that level... someone will have to fix that...
but I would get on the trouble shooting path, and come to the messageboards with the error messages so we can help until someone writes that tutorial.
hope that helps,

OK it was on my side i didn't have the .html allowed only default.asp and default.htm selected and I recreated the whole test site. and the simple search works! I have now also tried the advanced search and IT WORKED TOO! WOOO HOOO!
So now i just have to get the SQL commands down.
Also thank you for the Tutorial You might want to tell people how to enable the proper file listing in Personal Web server and in IIS.
Great site!
