Dreamweaver CS2 stopped putting files

Dreamweaver CS2 stopped putting files...kinda put a dent in doing sites. Uninstall-reinstall no help. Deleting or renaming file on server, then drag-drop file to remote pane uploads fine...but no longer allowing overwrite to files. If I'm shopping in the wrong store, please point me in a good direction before loading the shotgun. - Thanks, Doug -

Preferences and settings had been retained on uninstall. Creating a new site definition resolved the problem.
