GIF uploaded as GIF and JPG

I'm using Pure PHP Upload and Smart Image Processor to upload photos. It works fine with JPEGs but when I try to upload a GIF, it uploads the original GIF and a resized JPEG. Is there a way to make it only upload the resized file?
