hi Guys,

I recently moved from Acces DB to MS SQL, great!!! Shortly after, the webhost decided to upgrade the SQL Server from 2000 to 2005. My Connection string doesn't work at all now.

"Provider=sqloledb;Data Source=serveripaddress;Initial Catalog=dbname;User Id=myusername;Password=mypassword;"

the same information used with SQL express 2005 connects with no problems. Any ideas as to why and how I can fix the problem. I have gone through all the resources I could find but no luck. Help please.

Javier

Hi all,

I have been playing around and searching for an answer to my many problems. Ahh! Connection strings and DW8
Since my original connection string is not working in the ASP-VB environment that I had defined, I tried defining a ne site with the Net-vb and used the default template to connect and guess what: it connected no problem.

"Persist Security Info=False;
Data Source=200.111.111.111;
Initial Catalog=mydb;
User ID=myname;
Password=mypassword"

So, why the hell DW8 cannot connect as ASP-vb...anyone knows???????
