Hi All - I wonder if someone could help me out with a wee problem that I'm experiencing with dreamweaver?

I have CS3 insalled on my desktop and laptop. I'm half way finished re. trying to build my first site and I noticed that my divs were not working on my laptop. Whenever I would insert a layer (in design view) and, say, an image into that layer, when I came to position another layer over the original layer - it would automatically position the div outside of the div box, parallel to where I wanted to place it. I then opened up a new file to see if it was doing it there - and it did it again. I can't position a layer over another layer. It's like the new div is pulled to a position outside of the div box!

The z index numbers are different. I have asked several friends who know a bit about dreamweaver what the problem could be - sent them screenshots and code - and they haven't got a clue. On my desktop - all is well and I can position the layer wherever I like.
.
If anyone could help me I'd be incredibly thankful.

Gary

OK - no one knew the answer. I stumbled across the problem, which was a very durrrrr experience; the layers tab contains a tick in the box feature is you want to ensure that the layers don't overlap (for, say, if you want to convert layers into tables). I unticked the box and it all worked fine. Just in case some other person has the same problem <img src=../images/dmxzone/forum/icon_smile.gif border=0 align=middle>
