Currently in Dreamweaver MX on Vista Ultimate and trying to connect to a database (bands) for a webpage. Site all works fine (can upload etc etc), document type = ASP VBScript and testing server = ASP VBScript, FTP with all the user details and the URL Prefix as the web (www.*.co.uk) address I’d type into firefox to access the root page of the site (the index.asp).

SO....Trying to make a connection to a database I made in Access 2007 (though it’s a 2002-2003 *.mdb) and have set up an ODBC connection through Windows (System DSN tab -> New -> Microsoft office driver (*.mdb) -> Name = test2 and database defined (C:\Users\Tom March\Desktop\test2) that appears to work successfully etc etc.

Move to Dreamweaver, applications window and create a new DSN connection. Give it a name, specify it’s a local connection and test and “An unidentified error has occurred”, tried hundreds of new DSN’s, names and my windows username/password in every possible permutation. Even the sample one (TrioMotors) gives the same error.

So tried copying the database into my website (using a fasthosts “Windows ASP.NET” connection) and making the connection there (named it “Test2.intox-media” and tried using “DSN on testing server”. When i ask to find them automatically i get nothing and when i type in the name manually i recieve the following error message:

“[Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver]’(unkown)’ is not a valid path. Make sure that the path name is spelled correctly and that you are connected to the server on which the file resides.

[Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Driver’s SQLSetConnectAttr failed”

Any ideas? Anyone? really strugginling with this as no idea where to go with this error!

Any help'd be greatly appreciated

Tom.

using DWMX | ASP.NET server technology (but ASP VBScript pages in Dreamweaver) | ACCESS 2007 (but 2002-2003 *.mdb format)
