Can dropdowns make search parameters? Please Help!
18 May 2007 01:07:31 Gabriel G posted:
Hello everybody,Im using DW8 | ASP and I'm trying to do what seems to be the impossible -- creating 3 dynamic dropdowns and using them as search parameters. The idea is to select values from each of the dropdowns and submit those values to do a search query. I've created a successful connection to my DB (MS Access), tried various RecordSets, the Master/Detail setup, tried populating a hidden table with the values selected but nothing I do seems to work. I would really appreciate any input anyone has to offer on this. Thank you!

That was something i wanted to do too, but instead I have to just use 1 drop down and then use that, I couldn't figure out how to filter results using more than 1 variable

Do n't worry it is just possible with dream weaver itself. Just go to help and try getting some help on Advanced search options.... You will be able to get the best stuff there itself on "Advanced recordset, Search with multiple parameters, etc."
You can use a simple logic of sending those three drop down menu items as three input items in a form & submit these values into an advanced recordset to return the results...You will also get information on making Advanced sql query....etc.
