Hi, I've got two pcs locally networked together. Main PC has dreamweaver MX running and has the local site files stored on it's own hard drive. PC 2 runs Dreamweaver 8 and accesses the local site files on the Main PC via the network, so both users are working with the same local copy of the site which is stored on the Main PC and shared with/viewable by PC 2

Problem is that PC 2 seems to having issues with uploading/synchronising. PC 2 User will make changes to the local files stored on the Main PC then attempt to upload. DW will seem to upload sucessfully. A sync check on the file in question will say no sync necessary. However the file does not upload correctly to the server.

Main PC user can upload the file sucessfully that PC 2 user has modified, and a sync check will tell him it needs to be uploaded.

The fact that the local folders are located on the other PC should be completely transparent/irrelevant as far as I can tell. Once you've set up the shared access, PC 2 can access those folders as if they were it's own.

Is there any issue with DW accessing local site files across a network? Any settings I should be aware of?

Any ideas gratefully received.

Brian

You could try enabling Check IN/ Out . think this forces DW to check the last updated file and download the latest one when working on
