I created a site years ago using FrontPage 2000. I recently decided to switch over to Dreamweaver. I've created a few new sites using DW, but I am having issues importing my FP site into DW, editing it, and uploading it. I used some extensions (found online) to import the site. I can see the pages in DW. I can edit and save them. However, when I try to synchronize, it says no sync is necessary. When I look at my files to manually sync, the window is empty. I have no idea what to do from here. Can anyone help?? Thanks!

First - good decision to drop FP - you will not regret that and once you get familiar with dw you'll never look back <img src=../images/dmxzone/forum/icon_smile.gif border=0 align=middle>

I'm asking for more info on the issue - when you connect to the remote site can you 'see' all the files on the server - I'm asking that just in case your site definition is not pointing at the right place.

I see all the folders that FP puts up (15 folders in fact), and my pages are nested in the httpdocs folder.

Thank you so much for trying to help!

I don't think I'm going to be a lot of help, it's a long time since I used FP, I do recall that it uses some of those folders for dynamic stuff like text on buttons. I had a look through a site definition but can't see anything obvious there that might affect how dw synchs. At the moment I'm getting messages to say that the remote file has changed when I know it hasn't - bit that's due to the clock change.

For testing you could point dw at a new folder within httpdocs and upload to there and see how the site performs. In the past I've gone to the site control panel (of the hosting package) and removed the fp extensions then rebuilt the whole site - messy but it worked.
