It is almost impossible to do. If you are an advanced coder, you may be able to find something if you google "AJAX file upload" or "AJAX drag and drop file upload". But I have to say, I've tried to do this, and I can't even figure it out (and I'm pretty good at this stuff).
You just have to upload the image that they are dragging onto the screen. Once its uploaded, create an img element to contain the uploaded version. Then you can manipulate the position of the image as you please.
