Hello Everyone!

I think I read somewhere that this is a Dreamweaver problem but I'm not 100% sure, so I hope I am posting to the right forum!

Basically I have an Access database set up on my local machine and my connection seems to be working correctly as far as I can see. Apart from I can't upload the database from the Dreamweaver files panel, when I try it comes up with a warning that it hasn't worked. When I go in to the database file in wwwroot there is a .ldb file, I can only upload the database after I have closed Dreamweaver and deleted this file.

I'm sure I read somewhere that this is a dreamweaver issue but of course I can't find out even after loads of web searches!

Would appreciate any help.

Regards,

Clare Green.

the ldb file in Access is created everytime the db is in use. Howver, sometimes it seems it crashes and locks the whole database. I had similar problem and the only solution I had so far is to: close any application or user using the db. Then re-start your server or if you are suing a webhost and you can't do it yourself, ask them to re-start the website. sometimes you have to stop the website, then delete the ldb file. Your db will be ok. after that. But sometimes it is something recurring.

Good luck,

Javier

Arghhhhh! Wot a nightmare! LOL

It's such a pain in the neck, I have to restart dreamweaver manually delete the file then upload it again!

Hello!

Just thought I'd let you know that I managed to fix the problem by setting the user account on the database folder to "modify", I found this out from a different tutorial this evening and was most excited!
