Hey everyone,

Just wondering if someone will be able to help out a newbie.

I am designing a site, on which I would like to be able to post news items and display them.
For this I have registered with a free hosting service (www.ifastnet.com). Their server says it has PHP v5.1.6 and MySQL v5.0.32-Debian_7.
I have managed to create a database, and a table using the interface on the site.

I can also remotely edit the static content on the page and connect through dreamweaver MX.

The problem for me comes when I try to edit the dynamic content (table in the database). Despite having created a table, in the databases list, no tables are shown.

When I edit the mysql connection and press the test button, I get the error:

error 404 file not found etc.
possible reasons:
1. There is no testing server running on the server machine
2. The testing server specified for this site does not map to the redders.ifastnet.com/_mmServerScripts/MMHTTPDB.php URL. Verify that the URL prefix maps to the route of the site.

I have my site settings on PHP mySQL technology,
Edit directly on remote testing server,
Connect via FTP, then I have given FTP details

and the URL I have used as the root directory is:
redders.ifastnet.com/

------------------

SO my questions are:
1. Will I have to install mySQL on my local computer to TEST the files only?
2. If I do that, should it work on the remote server despite the fact that Dreamweaver is telling me it's not got MySQL on the server?
3. Do I have to have all the names of the tables etc. exactly the same as those on the remote server?

Thanks for all your help in advance,

reddaz.
