Editing PHP website

Hi. I've been given the job of updating a website which was developed using php and dreamweaver. I downloaded the files from the hosting server, and created a new site in Dreamweaver. I then copied all files into the htdocs folder. This part seems to be fine! When I view the files, they have the content which is on the website, but none of the graphics or layout. Is there something I should do to view these?
I am neither a PHP nor a Dreamweaver expert but I have used both in the past.
Thanks for any help.

assuming all the images etc downloaded - check the paths on your local machine.
you may have moved the files relative to where they were, if the paths to the files were relative then they would not show up.
or
if all the paths are from the server root then sometimes they just do not show in DW
