Have only been using DW8 a short time and am teaching myself as I go along, but have hit on a problem that I can't for the life of me figure out. Basically I work with layers in Design & Code view and have created a site of around 10 pages, all of them were working and displaying well, and the uploading site is perfect. SUDDENLY no matter which page I open, or even if I start on a brand new page, the design view displays everything completely wrong! It's basically displaying every layer like a tree list, one under the other from top to bottom, and in outlined containers that cant be moved or altered. I can't figure out what I may have done and have gone through all the setting with a fine-tooth comb! (The coding remains unchanged and is as it was before - this is only happening in Design view.....)

Can anyone shed some light on what's happened please????

Please, if anyone can help I'd be truly grateful. I can still find no resolve for this issue. Have re-installed and tried to delete every file associated with the program, and fresh installed THREE times now, but each time this perculiar behaviour shows itself.

I'm using DW8. Basically the program is not displaying or acknowledging any LAYERS I have used on my site pages. Coding remains entirely unchanged, but in design view, each "layer" is placed vertically alongside eachother going down the page, with no means to select move or resize them, and the actual Layers Palette shows nothing. As if nothing's there!

What could have happened here??? I'm wondering if an extension may have become corrupted, but I deleted all the ones I had installed. Something somewhere is "remembering" the program's state and giving me this scrambled view each time.

Anyone know where to look? I have gone through program files, prefetch, my docs/setting/application history/all the temps, etc. (Am using Windows XP) (PC)
