I am trying to upload a huge site with a lot of folders using DW MX. I can upload individual files without a problem but when I click on a folder then click on the upload arrow, the arrow graphic changes slightly indicating that I did indeed click on it but nothing else happens. Nothing. No dialog box opens or anything. If I click somewhere else, I get the spinning beach ball and this will go on forever. I have to force-quit DW. Then I open it up again and I see the base folder that I was trying to upload has been created but there are no files or other folders in this base folder. I have tried this with empty folders and folders with very small files and it doesn't matter how long I wait, that spinning ball icon just spins. Again, individual files upload OK. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Mac PowerBook G4
DreamWeaver MX (version 6?)

I don't have a solution, but would suggest that if your site is really big you might be better off using an ftp client to upload it rather than DW. I've recently been moving some big sites onto my new server and i've found it much quicker to use a stand-alone ftp program.

I've got an ftp problem at one of my customers, posted in the MX forum.

Thanks for your response, Alan. I have tried Fetch and a browser based FTP program, each of which will upload the files OK but I have to create the folders individually, then populate the folders one at a time. I was hoping to use DreamWeaver because it creates the folders on the fly and puts the right files in the right folders. But no matter how small the files, it won't upload anything if I select a folder to put. It just keeps spinning.

Is there another ftp client that will create the folders? Thanks.

mmmm, I used to do all my work on Mac, but as part of work had to use pc for compatability, so I've lost touch with the mac scene, all I can suggest is a quick google search for something like mac osx ftp client free download

then having a look at what comes back
