Ok here goes.

I want to achieve a user list page on my site. this is to include an avatar, name, location and a couple more fields.
I want the users to login and fill out a form which will then add there details to the user page automatically.

I'm a noob with server side stuff. really I haven't got a clue.

so far from what I understand I'm going to need a database of some sort. and some server stuff to access it.

Any help/guidance would be appreciated .

U need to know, which server side script, u'll be using first. And then you will knw which database and server u'll need.
