I'm using Dmx 8.02, MySQL 5.0.21, PHP Version 5.1.4 running on my Pc using Xampp.A few days ago i started getting errors when trying to test MySQL through Dreamweaver, saying there was no testing server and the site URL didnt map to /_mmServerScripts/MMHTTPDB.php in localhost. I've uninstalled everying & reinstalled again but still no joy.
LOCAL INFO :
Site name : dancinginkent
Local Root Folder : C:\Web\xampp\htdocs\dancinginkentHTTP Address : localhost/dancinginkent/
REMOTE INFO :
Access : Local/Network
Remote Folder : C:\Web\xampp\htdocs\dancinginkent
TESTING SERVER :
Server Model : PHP MySQL
Access : Local/Network
Testing Server Folder : C:\Web\xampp\htdocs\dancinginkentURL Prefix : localhost/dancinginkent/
I can access localhost exactly the same as before and can view the site fully using localhost/dancinginkent/ & any php/mysql pages i had previously created operate fine.
Any ideas ?

I couldnt find the cause of this problem as my other PC has exactly the same set up with same extensions, xampp etc.
I uninstalled everything, apache, mysql, dreamweaver, etc & reinstalled everything but got the same errors.
I then repeated the uninstall and also deleted traces of dreamweaver from the registry, then reinstalled. this worked !!.
Pain in the ?><> but at least i got rid of the error.

Hi Rob,
I got exactly the same error and googled it everywhere to find a more economical cure without success... Finally found a simple answer by chance : the problem was that I had checked "Use passive FTP" on the Site Definition for the Testing Server... As soon as I unchecked this, DW could display the database [<img src=../images/dmxzone/forum/icon_smile_cool.gif border=0 align=middle>][<img src=../images/dmxzone/forum/icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>]. Hope this helps future webmasters having the same pb!!!

I think I'm putting a new meaning to newbie,
I checked out that link thankyou so much. I think that is all correct, I do know my set up is different, not sure if a mistake or correct yet.
I found that I was missing the connection string from my web hosting company in my php document.
I now wonder what else I am missing because it still comes up with that error. But preserver I will. I will post when I have succeded. Thankyou for responding.

Well I got it.
Another really simple and silly mistake.
I uploaded my site on my testing server and lost my error 404.
I did than get another error, but tried typing in all my passwords seperately and leaving database section blank and pressing select on database until a list of databases comes up. And oh my goodness it all conneted successfully
I am ready to figure out the next challenge.
