i'm working on my first web site and i'm kind of lost. i somehow erased (i think) my web site but i still have all the files on my computer. but whenever i try to upload the index.htm file i get an error message. it says:

550 index.htm: Permission denied

what does this mean?! can i upload my files to the server?!

If you are using WS-FTP then this is what the error message means:

The 550 error is a message from the server stating that the account you have currently logged in as does not have permission to perform the action you are attempting. You may be trying to upload to the wrong directory or trying to delete a file.

You may want to double check your login information, or double check the permission settings associated with your login info <img src=../images/dmxzone/forum/icon_smile.gif border=0 align=middle>
