Knowing just enough to build a novice webiste, It's high time I move on to learn better solutsion. A few questions for anyone kind enough to help.1. Currently I use Tables to build my websites. Even though the over-all width of hte table remains the same (i.e. 750 piexel, I have challenges keeping the individual cells within the table at the same width/height. Whether I put in graphics or text, the cells dimensions constantly change on me. Is there a way to lock the dimensions of a cell down?
2. When I place a graphic in a cell, I can't seem to align the graphic to the top of the cell. it always wants to center even though I chose 'Top' from the position properties drop down ??
3. Why is it whenever I delete a cell item (normally a graphic), the entire table stretches way out with huge blanks top, bottom and/or in between. I have to click anywhere in the table and wait a few seconds before everything 'pops' back to normal. Why is this? it's annoying....
I have so many questions concerning tables... this is all I know at the moment. Should I begin learning forms or CSS or what is best of web design??
thanks anyone / everyone for your tips, suggestions and help.

Hi Randy,
You will read all over the net that css (style sheets) are the way forward for building sites today but I still find there are some advantages to building what is called a hybrid structure.
I tend to build the page using a table to hold all things together and then use css for the rest.
So, if you want a page with a heading and then three columns (classic look much like this site) setting a table to hold the elements in makes this all the more simple.
It is possible to do with frames and css but you need to ensure it works across all browsers. Make sure you at least test in IE and Firefox as this will give you a pretty good idea if things are working correctly.
I do not work for this site so please do not think I am trying to get you to spend money but the CSS guide available from this site is superb and is cheap! It will certainly help you get on the right track.
Here is a link, read through the intro details and I think you will find it will cover all you need.
