Hi all, have been a lurker for a while but am after some help please.
Been asked to develop a car sales type site. the owner is not exactly technical so i need to make the admin section as easy as possible.
I am looking for a way to give him the choice to upload say upto 4 images from his camera, then fill in all the car details before the lot is saved to an access db. images i guess will be shrunk to optimum size, and the names will be stored in the db, but stored in a specific folder.
Done similar using php and perl, but the need to simple and upto 4 images per entry i am at a loss and would either love some advice or reccomendations.
I am using MX to develop this, and while resonably technical, easier the better for me

Cheers in advance

Hi Paul,

The whole subject of file/image uploading is a real heavy one and even the most experienced coders tend to purchase extensions to achieve this (the extension can be used time and time again for different projects).

I do not get any money for recommending extensions from this site so this is my honest opinion, there are a couple of really good upload and image handling extensions that are available from this site.

Here are a couple of links. This will certainly do what you want and much much more!

here is the php version: www.dmxzone.com/ShowDetail.asp?NewsId=4988

Vince, thanks for taking the time to reply, i actually got sorted and used a script i found which i will happily paste for all to see / use here. i appreciate its a right can of worms to open.
Its quite easy to work with even for a novice, and is asp. i am using it on a pretty std 2003 server with no problems. also using a aspjpeg program we are buying for resizing images too.
thanks once again vince

Paul
