Images not showing up on my web site

Ok, I am not well-versed in web design and really have no idea what I am doing but I designed a web site for a non-profit in Costa Rica and I hope some kind soul will help me figure out a problem I am having. I recently updated some of the pages on my site and since my computer with Dreamweaver is no longer on a network, I uploaded the revised pages onto a USB device and then downloaded them to the ftp site using another computer. All of a sudden none of the images on my site were visible.
According to one of my more knowledgeable friends:
It seems that the paths might be incorrect. For instance,

should probably look like this:

Ok, so I really am so clueless that I do not have the slightest idea of how to go about changing the paths. Can anyone help? I need basic basic steps.

Open the HTML file (web page) in Notepad. This will show you the code. Find the lines you want to change and change them. Hope this helps.

Ok I opened the page and looked at the code, but I do not see the source code for any images that I can change. Am I missing something?

Should be something like:
"img src="/Images/HomePageTop.gif"
Looks like you might have spaces in the name to. I would rename the image to drop the spaces - you can use underlines, but I usually name like this: HomePageTop.gif Or HomePage_Top.gif

ok i found the image source code. now my question is this. i went into my ftp site and opened the source code for the index page. i changed the source code and saved the file. but when i opened the page in explorer, the changes did not register and when i opened the source code up again it was back to the wrong source code.
i'm sorry i have no idea what i am doing. those of you reading this are probably slapping your foreheads in amazement at my ignorance..

You probably can't make changes to the file while its on the server. If you don't have a copy of the file on your computer use FTP to move the file from the server to your computer. Make the changes to the file on the computer - follow Kimmy's instructions. Then upload the file back to the server.
