Hi All,If the moderators find this topic or choice of forum inappropriate please feel free to move/remove it.
I am the sole IT guy for a non profit, community radio station on the East coast. We desperately need a Web site design as ours is pitiful. Our biggest problem is updating whatever we end up with as we are all volunteer and our skills are limited. I do have a decent grasp on the whole concept of Web sites, servers, scripts, etc and we do have a copy of DW to use. I can use it with some proficency but am certainly no "Webmaster". We do not need or want anything fancy. Just something that is less of an eyesore than what we have now and that is easy to update almost daily.
I am in the process now of negotiating a budget (likely a few hundred dollars at most) for this project but I thought that the members here may want a crack at the design as a paid job or perhaps make a contest out of it.
What say you all?

Hmm, I could use a new project.
You may want to define your needs with the site first. I would recommend creating a "project plan" detailing your needs and wants with the site and then instead of having a contest, maybe create a bid. Where ones could send you a bid and you decide which fits your plan best (and budget of course).
But if you don't get any offers, I am a full-time webmaster and do freelance on the side. My portfolio page is still under construction but I will house all of that at www.avotive.com.
I'll place a "bid" now actually.
$250 dynamic site (PHP, MySQL), custom layout, custom graphics, with full CMS (content management) support.

Hi Derek,
Thank you for the reply to the topic.
We do have a single page and flow chart that a volunteer did for us about a year ago. He is no longer interested in the project but it may help. I will E-mail them to you if you like.
We would also like to link to shows we have recorded in MP3 format that are housed on an in house multi function server. Actually I could build those pages and put them on that Web server if it adds much to the job.
Can you tell me more about the CMS you had in mind?
Thanks again,
Jim

Wordpress is my CMS of choice. It's built ontop of blogging technology and has incredible customization abilities. Uses PHP and MySQL. It's a great app.
