I have an old ASP site, with no database, although there originally was a SQL Server database. I wish to copy some HTML elements of the site, tables, forms and form elements etc. to a new version of the site. The new site is degfined properly in the site definitions, with a connection to the database etc. The old site is not fully defined as I don't need any dynamic features and don't have the original database. I just want to open the files and grab some HTML elements and copy and paste them into the new site. However, DW sometimes takes several <b>minutes</b> to open the files/pages in the old site. Also, if I use the tabs to switch between pages in the new and old site, I get the egg timer icon for several minutes before I can work with the page every time I switch to one of the old site pages. If I look in Windows Task Manager while the egg timer is displayed it indicates that Dreamweaver is "Not Responding".
What the hell is DW doing that takes several minutes to "access" the page every time?
Software: Dreamweaver version 8.01
OS: Windows XP Pro - all the latest patches, updates etc.
PC: 4Ghz dual core Pentium IV, 2 Gb RAM
My PC is pretty snappy with every other application, but this is virtually unsusable.
Has anyone else come across this problem; how did you manage to resolve it?
Regards
Owen.

Where is the DB and remote files stored?
Clear Testing/Remote settings for now and make sure everything is local and then test?
