<font color=green>I am having trouble desciphering the cryptic help file for this feature of Dreamweaver. I need to replace the company's name in a web site project I am working on. It is changing from "joe associates" to "joe associates lighting" . The only problem is that some joe before me only changed about half of the references on the site (over 500 pages). So I am trying to figure out if it is possible to seach only for "joe associates" and not for "joe associates lighting". I hope this makes sense because I could surely use some help otherwise I'll be going through 500 pages and doing it by hand.

Since he changed half of them you can't just do a normal replace "joe associates" with 'joe associates lighting" because you'll get half that are right and half that say "joe associates lighting lighting".

But, here is a two-step process I think you can accomplish this:

1) Open the 'Find and Replace' and change the settings to match your structure. If you want every instance on every page changed it would seem you would use 'Find In: Entire Current Local Site' and 'Search: Source Code'
2) In the 'Find' box, put 'joe associates lighting' and in the 'Replace' box put 'joe associates'. Running this find and replace will make all the instances of the company name the same.
3) Now that all the names are identical, you can run a normal find and replace with 'joe assocaites' in the 'Find' box, and 'joe associates lighting' in the 'Replace' box.

Hope this helps... JC
