I have a small function in the top of my page and I want to call this function when an image is clicked but every time the page is loaded the function is executed how to prevent that and execute the function only when I want that?

The PHP is running on the server and executed before the page is send to the user, to execute functions by a click from a user can only be done by using a client-side script like JavaScript.
