I created a backgound in Fireworks and sliced the image vertically then added it to Dreamweaver (MX 2004). When I added it to the document using page properties it tiles and when I use the repeat y function in CSS nothing happens. I want it to run accross the entire page without tiling. How can that be achieved? Any help would be appreciated. Replies

This is only an idea. I have not tested it. Why don't you encapsulate your page in a DIV and apply the CSS background to it rather than to the body.
Hope it works.

Hi if its just one colour you want as a backgound all I do is
find colour in FW u want >
modify the image size to one pixel>
Export the image a jpeg/gif to your art folder eg.bckground1.jpg>
go back to DW then look in properties - background box - find the file in art folder then see what it looks like.
I realise this is not using CSS but the same process can be done in CSS .
Hope this all made sense and helps
