im trying to add a database (with dreamweaver mx and sql and phpmyadmin) to my website and i've made it all the way to "creating a connection" and it wont let me connect. it says i need to verify my url prefix, but i dont know what to put there i've tried everything. and i know the files are there. the error says i need to verify my url prefix so it maps to the root of the site.

When you say it won't let u connect. You mean it doesn't detect the connection in the connection settings on Dreamweaver MX or when u open ur page live? Concerning the URL you hve to check that u are allowed remote access to you sql database. When u say the files are there what files are you talking about?

this is my first time ever attempting this. i know nothing about php except that im supposed to make a database with it. when im in the "testing server" window in dw and i type my stuff in it says it made a successful connection to my server. but when i click the plus sign in the database tab and fill the stuff out it and click test it gives me that 404 error. there is no testing server on this maching or it cant verify the url prefix to the root or the site or something. im not sure if i have the right stuff typed in or what, its probably something stupid and easy to fix but im just too retarded to figure it out. <img src=../images/dmxzone/forum/icon_smile_sad.gif border=0 align=middle>

You be have have the whole Apache package installed with SQL. At least for sql you need an ODBC driver. Because the error message you're having will only appear when it cannot connect to you server. Make sure that Apache and SQL is installed and running properly.
