I'm a total rookie at building web pages, so this may be very simple to most of you.

How do you place images/pictures/graphics on the page in dreamweave mx without screwing up the positioning of the font. Everything seems to revolve around the cursor, and I can't put pictures where I want them to be. Please help.

Have you aligned the image in Properties?

Insert the image in the area you want it, at the beginning of a sentence, middle of a paragraph... wherever... click on the image to make sure it is selected and then in Properties at the bottom of DW click on the Align drop down box to make your choice. You can then add space around the image in the V space and H space within Properties.

I'm starting to figure it all out. I actually read the owners manual(imagine that). However, I do have another question if anyone can help. I loaded my index page yesterday and it looked great. But when my friend, who doesn't have a widescreen on his laptop, went to the site, the graphic that was centered on my screen wasn't centered on his.

I made the background in Microsoft Publisher, and saved it as a .gif file. Anyone know why it may be doing this?
