Hi - I'm very to server side design but Hey - you have to start somewhere right? I'm hoiping that all you pros out there can take pity on a newbe and remember when you were where I am now! Hopefully down the line I can return the favour! Please bear in mind I only have a vague idea what I am talking about here!!
So......I am trawling through various tutorials (supposedly for dummies so what this says about me is anyones guess and frankly I'd rather not know thanks!) in effort to create and view asp pages. I'm using IIS, Windows XP and VBScript. Anyway - its all going ok until I make the connection to the database - (which is a mdb). I can view the page live until I try and create a binding. Then I just get the following error message: Live data error. An Error occurred when requesting a document from the testing server. Error type: Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Driver could not use (unknows) file already in use. Now I am treading on very thin ground here but this is what I've tried to do to solve the problem - I tried to download MDAC provider but it said it cant be installed because its already there?? It does say there are other providers but it doesnt say how to get them! Am I even on the right track here?

Please can anyone point me in the right direction for help. I do love self teaching myself stuff but I've been stuck on this for 2 days now!!! Thanks sooooo much

Have you tried viewing directly from the server, using a browser rather than using "live data view" from Dreaweaver preview?

Is there a code that we can view?
What do you want to do? a login page a catalogue an upload page?

help us here, provide more details.

Cheers,

Javier
