Hi, this is my first post...

If my question is too stupid - be nice!?

I'm just started using dreamweaver 8 and am very new to web development. My problem is the quality of gif images. Although they're 300 dpi, they look quite jaggedy and rough when placed in dreamweaver. I tried optimising in fireworks - this worked perfectly on one image, now it's all smooth and smic. However, there are some which optimising didn't work on - they're still jaggedy. What am I doing wrong? How do I place images so that they don't lose quality?

Ensure that you are resizing the images using photo editing software (ie fireworks) and not in DW. Don't just bring the photo into Dreamweaver, and resize it.
