First of all: Sorry if this question has already been answered - I haven't been able to find the answer if it has.

My question is why, in DW8, I keep getting the message "Cannot update insertbar.xml. Extension will not be installed" when trying to install extensions which should work in DW8? Maybe I should add that I'm very new to web-design...

I have the exact same problem.
Error message:

<font color=red><b>While executing in insertbar.xml, the following javascript error(s)occurred:
ReferenceError: SERVERMODEL_JSP is not defined</b></font id=red>

Any suggestion to this?

I also use extensions from InterAktOnline.com - and they have provided this solution:
