I'm getting an intermittent problem. When I "put" local files to my Test Server, the file itself and the "Last Modified" timestamp on the Test Server copy do not update. I then tried deleting the pre-existing copy of the Test Server file before "putting" the newer version. Sometimes this works perfectly OK but more often than not, all that seems to happen is that the pre-existing one re-appears whenever I move away from DreamWeaver and return to the list of files on my Test Server. As an example, if I want to update ABC.txt with a Last Modified timestamp of 15:00 on the Test Server copy with a more recent local copy timestamped at 15:30, I first of all delete the 15:00 copy and put the 15:30 copy to the Test Server. When I open a new browser to check that my revised page is now updated., it still shows the previous version. Moreover, when I go back to look at the files on my Test Server, the old 15:00 copy is still there.
What's going on?

Hi Brian,
If you have dreamweaver setup to automatically update modified files it would over write the modified file automatically (i think) its about the only thing i can think of... For example (just to clarrify); If you update a file on the server (abc.txt) and have the file abc.txt on your local machine when dw saves or reloads due to a modification it would move the local file to the remote test serv.
Hope it helps...

Hi Allan,thanks for the reply.
What you say is what it ought to be doing, i.e. automatically updating ABC.txt on the test server with a more recently modified ABC.txt held locally. However, this isn't the problem. What is happening is that the test server version appears to get updated but when I subsequently view the Test Server files and local files by clicking the extreme right icon in the Files panel and then click the "Refresh" icon on the toolbar of the screen which then appears (i.e. test server files on the left, local files on the right), the version reverts to the previous version and discards the version I just "put".

Hi Brian,
Beleive it or not it happened to me today on a freaken background image! Couldnt work it out, tried everything under the sun and nothing worked. I had to manually update the footer file to update all pages that call it on load...
If you work it please let me know, i think it may be a bug with dw?

It may be a bug. It happens all the time to me. But it may be operator error also, as I am newbie.
I find that DW sometimes asks for "remote" when i try to "put" files to Testing server.
I find that by selecting "testing" server and returning to local server then "putting" sometimes jogs things back in to working order.
