Info: DWMX - ASP VB

I am trying to build a site that requires a session control. I am new to sessions and I am trying to work out how to check if the session has been started.

My question is:
<pre id=code><font face=courier size=2 id=code>= ""</font id=code></pre id=code> the same as
<pre id=code><font face=courier size=2 id=code>= Null</font id=code></pre id=code>If I set my session variable to Null in order to reset it, does it make my variable = "" ?

Any advise most welcome.
