Hi guys,I have a little issue here, I am running IIS 5.1 on a WinXP Pro machine the configuration is as follows;
- No firewall is running (inc. Windows crap)
- IIS has default website using ports 80, 8080 and 81
- You can connect to port to my ip using 81
- Site can be viewed by me on my local network
- No external viewers can see the site without using port 81 (for example 211.211.211.211:81)
- All permissions have been set and are fin when using port 81 but default 80 can not be used.
- IIS is running on the primary PC on the network PC1 (testing server)
Having said all the above could some one please help me?! I have tried everything under the sun but yet it is to work? Any help would be appreicated. Many thanks in advance.
Regards
Allan

Allan,
My first question is are you running your XP PC on a network?
If so, is it bhind a router or firewall?
If it is, is port 80 open on the firewall?
Is port 80 on the router/firewall (NAT) pointing to the internal IP address of your XP PC?
These are the only issues that I can think of that would affect outside viewing of your website on a specific port.
Hope that helps,

Hi Barry,
Thanks for replying... There is no firewall nor router. I have ICS setup on the machine running IIS (as far as routing is involved) but other than that it has no kind of protection (deliberately done) so that I can limit where the problem is coming from.
