DW 8 help screen font size small
30 Dec 2005 03:11:28 Liv H posted:
This may sound like a silly question, but...I just installed the Dreamweaver 8 upgrade and I noticed that the onboard help screen has a font (right side content only) that is extremely small, too small for me to read. There doesn't seem to be any way to increase the font size from the help window. Has anyone else noticed this or is it just my bad eyesight? All other fonts in the working areas, and even in the left menu of the help screen, are fine. Thanks. Replies

I'm having exactly the same problem, and would be exactly the same amount interested in finding exactly the same solution!
Don't rush off, you just got here! And you haven't seen my cellar yet.

The font size is -for some reason- controlled by the font size in Internet Explorer. If you increase the font size in IE (View/Text Size), then the help file font in DW8 will increase in size.
Hope this helps ...

Ah ha! THANK YOU so much. Yes, that works. I would never have thought of increasing the IE text size to fix it. It's a little bizarre, isn't it? But it works...<img src=../images/dmxzone/forum/icon_smile.gif border=0 align=middle>

Because it employs IExplorer as it's help file engine, I suppose.
A nice quick tip I found in the Studio 8 introductory manual:
"In Windows you can change the size of the text in the Help panel by cliciking in the Table of Contents pane of the Help panel, pressing Control, and scrolling the mouse wheel. This also changes the size of the text in your web browser."
