ScenarioAm building a dynamic date driven environment using asp and an MSAccess 2003 database. The resulting pages and database to be marketed to potential clients.
Problem
I want to prevent the client from opening the MSAccess 2003 database in order to ensure that the intellectual property rights and investment in the database design itself are restricted. I know that an MSAccess database can be password protected however this prevents the data access pages from retrieving/sending data to the MSAccess database.
Solution
Any ideas?
Thank you in anticipation of quality assistance and advice.

My first question is. Are you the server admin or is the website on a server owed by another company. If it is owned by another company, speak with the tech group and ask them how to or have them set the permissions correctly on the folder that the database is in. Keep the database in a separate folder than the web pages. Mine is typically at an equal level to the root directory, not under it. If you are the server admin... make sure your db is in a folder equal in level or parallel to the root directory, set your permissions and then make sure your dns points to the db.
