I appreciate that most dynamic sites use SQL, but I'm wondering whether it is actually possible (and not TOO difficult) to use Access : being a database dummy, who's not really wanting to get too deeply into SQL code writing. My two Dreamweaver books use it in their examples - but where on earth (or on the Internet) can I look for up-to-date, novice-nice assistance.

Hi Peter
There's nothing wrong with using Access as long as you are aware of its limitations. Namely that it will not support more than about 10 users at one time, it is limited to databases of 2gb lacks some of the 'power' of client-server databases.
Which means that if you intend to learn how to build dynamic websites then its a pretty good place to start as its 'free' with Office etc. It will also work fine for small sites that dont have a lot of traffic.
If you want to run a business / ecommerce site then you really should consider moving on up to one of the bigger players.

Having said that I think you can still get hold of MSDE (which is also free) its a trimmed down version of SQL server and can also be very good to learn on.
