My new copy of DW8 will not remember the site definitions. I can add multiple sites to the list, with all the details, but when I quit and reopen, it has forgotten all the sites. After they are entered in the "manage sites" area, they show up on the list of files as green folders, and clicking on the folders shows the correct files Control clicking to create new blank files works, too, and leaves the new folder in the correct directory. It also doesn't matter whether I setup the local root on the system drive or the SCSI raid array that I always use for project files. Macromedia can't figure it out either. Please help!

One thing you might try is to first setup the definitions and preferences then to exit the program formally using the file menu. On PCs I know all the versions of Dreamweaver upto and including MX2004 would lose any settings you had set if you did not exit the program in a formal way first. After that first time though it will hold the settings and you can shut down the program willie-nillie and it will not matter..
Give it a try and let us know back here if that works
