Hello dreamweaver users,my problem is trying to get my basic html page onto the net. Like you have to go through 3 steps --- create a site( which i have done) and then choose a document type which i do not have a clue on which one to pick and then the last one is testing the server and i am having heaps of trouble on that one cause do i have to go to a web hosting site and sign up to upload it if so can you tell me where to go to do that. Then it ask where do i want to keep the remote folder, will i know that once i sign up with someone and then it ask for my login and password like it is all very confusing. Can someone help me with easy steps ohhhhhh and also i am on a mac if that makes a differance.

i don't use a mac, but i can't see there being any major differences.
1. create a site (you've done this already)
2. choose a document type (select a .html page)
3. testing server: only needed if you use a dynamic language in your pages like ASP, PHP etc.., if you just using plain HTML, then you don't need to set this up.
4. remote folder: same as above for no# 3.
do you have a web host already? most ISP's offer free space when you take your connection with them.
you will need either a web host like i've said above, or you need to run a server on your local machine for people to be able to view your page on the web.
there is a few free hosts around if you don't want to pay, but don't expect nothing great from them.
google is your man for finding them.
