How do I go about implementing a page with a view of a table that can be dynamically sorted by clicking on the column header of the field that needs sorting?

Is there a bulit in Dreamweaver behaviour, a downloadable extension or do I have to roll it from PHP myself? If so, any clues would be gratefully appreciated.

Have a look at this: www.basic-ultradev.com/exthelp/sortrepeatregion/index.asp?link=list

I'm not sure if it's compatible with DWMX2004, but it certainly works in DWMX.

Well I was hoping to do it myself but this looks like a good back-up plan.

Pity is so expensive. I'm sure its worth it for those earning a living from webdesign but a bit steep for the hobbyist. $25 isn't much on it's own but a little widget here, one there and the costs soon rack up. Just to get a web based database up the the capabilities of even the most rudimentary of standalone database system would cost hundreds, getting on for thousands.

Maybe I could pester work to buy me it.

I like the look of the book about designing your own extensions from the site though...

Hi Dale

This is my first post so please be gentle with me!

I had a quick look-see to try and find a solution, and www.experts-exchange.com/Web/Web_Languages/PHP/PHP_Databases/Q_21295264.html seems to point to pretty much what you're wanting...

Hope it helps - it's certainly cheaper than $25! It is of course specific to the original poster, but I'm sure it could be "tuned" to meet your requirements if you don't mind rolling your own PHP!

Cheers

Simon
