Now this is <b>INTERESTING</b>!!! Chris Wilson, the lead program manager for the web platform in IE posted up in his IEblog blogs.msdn.com/ie/archive/2005/03/09.aspx encouraging the web community to make known their "specific requests and descriptions of problems". Brave man!
Needless to say there have been some responses...
<ul><li>www.456bereastreet.com/archive/200503/wishlist_for_ie7/ </li><li>www.sitepoint.com/blog-post-view.php?id=242025 </li><li> www.quirksmode.org/blog/archives/2005/03/ie_and_standard.html </li><li>annevankesteren.nl/archives/2005/03/ie7-wishlist </li></ul>
Anyone got anything they'd like to add?

all my wants have been mentioned in the replies tbh.
but personally, i'd love the major browsers to all get together and share a basic platform for standards, and then branch off with their own unique features.

Bold move by the micro$oft camp though!
I'm pleased to see that they are actively seeking advice on how to improve things.
Some of the other links make the point that we are quick to criticise IE for its flaws but do not remember the fact that IE 3,4 and 6 were widely praised for their support for CSS!!!!
If we don't make our requests known then we've got no one to blame but ourselves when the new IE 7 fails to deliver support for the things we want

I was thinking of collecting ideas from the Zone and then using the weight of this community to present the ideas to Chris Wilson.
I agree with Dave that all the major wants have been covered elsewhere, just trying to think of ways to add more voices to the call
