I'm currently using Dreamweaver MX 6.1 (on a Mac). It does what I need it to do and it's stable. However, MX 2004 has been out for sometime and I'd like to try it out to help me decide whether to upgrade. If I download the trial version does anyone know if I can install it alongside MX 6.1. I don't want to mess up MX 6.1 in any way, so if the trial might cause problems I'm not going to install it.___________________________________

Hi Matt,
Let me start by saying I've got no experience with Macs at all...
But this was something raised by the PC community www.dmxzone.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=30717&FORUM_ID=544&CAT_ID=2&Topic_Title=Installing+MX+2004&Forum_Title=%2A%2A%2A+Macromedia+MX+%2A%2A%2A
Macromedia say you can install the 2 side by side with no ill effects. I will say that
I noticed a few minor quirks, site definitions being moved between the installations,
but nothing major.
Personally I LOVE DWMX04 and wouldn't swap back to the previous version now.
If you've got a spare computer then I'd say install it on that - but from your post
I'm guessing you don't have one to hand. In which case the next best thing to do
would be to backup all your settings... Unfortunately I don't know of any tool to do
that for you for a Mac.
Maybe someone else can offer some Mac based advice?

I read the thread you mentioned which seems to indicate that there might be the odd minor problem, but as you say it would be good to hear from someone who uses a Mac.
