In dreamweaver when you have to change server files you have to check them out and make changes and check them in. so I wanted to make changes to template and I checked out template and made changes. But I did not check out all the files which were based on that tempate. I thought you don't have to. It will take so long to check out all the related files and then check them in. do you know easier way to update all the fileson server if i change the template?

A little easier, and faster, is too use a regular FTP program but that's a sideway to do it. As for DW, a faster way is too download related files, but when you upload, only upload the changed template file (no related files on upload).

I agree with Chris, there are loads of good FTP transfer programs out there, one is:

www.smartftp.com/

You can however turn of the get dependant files option in Dreamweaver so you will only transfer the file selected,

Go to - Edit - Preferences - Site Tab - Dependant Files - Deselect checkboxes.
