Hi I am using the free webhost somee.com to test a site I am creating in dreamweaver, asp and access. This host only connects to databases using dnsless connections. So the problem. I setup a connection, use connection as the connection name, use "PROVIDER=MICROSOFT.JET.OLEDB.4.0;DATA SOURCE=" & Server.MapPath("database\cart.mdb" as the connection string, which I got of the somee faqs, then I get error 404
1)there is no testing server running on the server machine
2)the testing server does not map to /nikkisfloraldesigns/_mmserverscripts/mmhttpDB.asp url. Verify that the url prefix maps to the root of the site.

In short, what does this mean Thankyou

Daniel

Just for reference... <b>What version of DW (MX/MX2004)?</b>

Also...
<ul><li>Check the hosts' FAQ's, maybe your Access database is hosted on a seperate server/URL (not same with files).</li><li>Did you run the "Test Connection" buttons on both your FTP and Database connection dialogs?</li></ul>

I know there aren't answers but just need some more details to handle the issue(s). <img src=../images/dmxzone/forum/icon_smile.gif border=0 align=middle>
