Retreiving Info From another page using php

Hi There,I have an html file on my website from which I would like to retrive specific information for my frontpage. Is there an extension that could do this in php or can someone share some light with me.

You need to be more specific than that please. Is it a form? RSS feeds? you want to show the date? As you can see we'd need more info to know what you are trying to accomplish.
