I'm thinking of using MSDE for a website back end rather than MS Access. Its not worth going with full blown SQL Server just yet, but maybe in a year or so depending on how the site goes...

I've not used MSDE before so I'm really just trying to see what advice people can give me

Take SQL Server and stick a few limitations on it (25 concurrent connections etc) and you've got MSDE
Stored Procedures, UDF's and all the goodies you're used to.
Used Enterprise Manager to connect up, seems pretty cool so far.

To be honest I'm surprised it doesn't appear to be more widely used - and I'd like to know <i>why</i>. Access is cool for what it is, but I'm definitely going to be using MSDE unless I find a <b>good</b> reason not to.
If the site grows upsizing will be <b>eeeeasy</b>

I finally read up on MSDE, sounds damn good. I didn't know it's where SQL Server Express is coming from.

Are you using MSDE 2000? (or older MSDE)
